Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account details: your name and email, and, only if you add them, your phone number and birth date.
• Your budget: the accounts, categories, plans, goals and transactions you enter or import. This is the content of the app and belongs to you.
• Preferences: language, appearance and number and date formats.
• Sign-in data: if you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the email and name they share with us.
• Subscriptions: purchases are handled by Apple. We only learn whether your subscription is active; we never see your card details.

What we don't collect

• We don't use advertising, ad trackers or analytics that follow you across apps, and we don't sell or rent your data.
• BYN doesn't connect to your bank. Your transactions come only from what you enter or import.

How we use your data

• To run your account, sync your budget between your devices, and keep it backed up.
• To send account emails you need: confirming your email, resetting your password, and security notices.
• To answer you when you contact support.

Where your data is stored

• Without a cloud account, everything stays on your phone.
• With a cloud account, your data is stored with Supabase, our hosting provider, and protected so that only your signed-in account can read it. Data travels over encrypted connections.

Connecting AI apps (MCP)

• If you connect an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT from your account, that app can read your budget and add transactions or move planned money on your behalf, only after you approve it.
• What that app does with the data is covered by its own privacy policy. You can disconnect it at any time from My account.

Who we share data with

• Only the providers we need to run BYN: Supabase (hosting and sign-in), Apple (Sign in with Apple and subscriptions), Google (Sign in with Google, if you use it), and our email provider for account emails.
• We may disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and every budget in it are deleted from our servers.

Your rights

• You can see and edit your data in the app, export your transactions, and delete your account at any time, in the app or on this website.
• Under Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and similar laws, you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and withdraw consent. Contact us using the details below.

Children

• BYN isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

• If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, let you know in the app.
